I think that themes are just something that you learn, like a life lesson. I think they are really important when writing a book because the author not only wants the reader to get into the book but to learn something from the book. Sometimes themes appear on television or in advertisements or even in little kids books. They are in a bunch more places but i can't think of any right now so... yeah:]um there is a theme that is " you must act when you can" and that theme is meaningful because I have had many times where I knew I should've done something in a certain situation and didn't end up doing anything:S

The first two books i used for my reading journals were both from a series I'm reading called The Daughters of the Moon. The first book i used was called Night Shade and its about a girl named Jimena who starts to see the "ghost" of her old boyfriend, who had died a year ago. Apparently, she believes he is not dead due to the fact that others see him as real as anybody else... but she also thinks that something is very wrong. What I got out of this book is that you might think something is real until you discover the truth. This is true because what if you think something is going to happen and learn that its all a lie?or what if you know you're going to get something special and don't end up getting anything at all?
The second book i used was called Moon Demon. It is about a girl named Vanessa who is a "goodie girl". She meets a guy named Hector, and ever since that day she feels like she is changing into a person the total opposite of herself. What i got out of this book is that you might have a different person inside you that you never knew was there. I think this is true because sometimes people change and theybecome a person that they had somewhere inside them. For example, if a shy quiet person later on turns into a loud outgoing person, then they probably let everthing out and turned into a person that they had in them.

Book Reading
I checked out a book from the library on Friday...that I now finished reading. Today we have silence reading and I just choose my " emergency book" called The Wounded Spirit. I had already started reading this book a long time ago but stopped. This book will not be for my Third reading journal because so far I am reading a series for my reading journals. So, when I'm done reading the series, I will probably do this book or some other books. The Wounded Spirit is interesting. It's about a boy who is an outsider because of something that was wrong with his tounge: it was oversized. He had a difficult birth. He had a tumor growing in the side of his neck in his first two months of living. later in his life, he had an issue with his tounge. His parents and his brother learned to love him. But when he starts going to school, the kids start to tease him. His life changed forever.
